"IT'S A THAI SCORE"

Food you boil in a bag generally isn't much to get excited about. But the tasty Spaa Cuisine Thai creations ($3.99 each) from New England Herbal Foods practically had us doing cartwheels. Simply throw a plastic pouch of the spicy red curry with bamboo shoots (the rich, sweet Masaman curry with peanuts and potatoes is delicious, too) and the accompanying packet of steamed jasmine rice into a pot of boiling water, or heat the contents in the microwave, and ta-da, restaurant-quality meals in minutes. Miraculously, they're made of natural ingredients and have no preservatives. When's the last time you saw fish sauce as the last item in an ingredient list on packaged food? Come to think of it, have you ever seen lemongrass, cardamom seeds, and galangal root even mentioned on such a list? They are here, and you'll taste them. The two servings promised are really only enough for one, so don't feel obligated to share. Anyway, you won't want to.
